He said he served as a private in the War, in the Capt Blunt Company, Col Tupper regiment. At the time he was a resident of Putnam.2

Ezekial Winslow1

     Ezekial Winslow was born in 1759 at Lincoln, Maine, USA.1,2 He was the son of Kenelm Winslow and Ann (?).1 Ezekial Winslow married Sedonah Montgomery on 17 September 1807. In July 1820 he appeared before the Maine Court of Pleas to confirm his Revolutionary War pension. He said he served as a private in the Capt White company, Col Tupper regiment.2 Ezekial Winslow died on 13 June 1835 at Waldoboro, Lincoln, Maine.3

Kenelm Winslow1

M, b. 1718, d. 16 February 1796
     Kenelm Winslow was born in 1718 at Massachusetts, USA. Kenelm's name first surfaces as living in Newcastle in 1733 when his dwelling his mentioned in a land dispute.2 He married Ann (?) circa 1748 at Newcastle, Lincoln, Maine.1 Kenelm was among the signers of the petition to Massachusetts for the formation of a new county in Maine, known as the Kennebec Purchase Petitioners. Next to him on the list are Nathaniel Winslow and Nathaniel Winslow Jr.3 In 1755 he was appointed one of three selectmen for Newcastle.2 Kenelm was chosen as a tithing man, a sign of the settlement's increasing wealth.2 He was chosen as a constable in 1760 in Newcastle.4 In 1761 he signed a petition questioning the appointment of a minister in the town.2 "Dr. Kenelm Winslow" purchased 100 acres for 20 pounds in 1763 at Newcastle, Lincoln, Maine. The tract of land was sold in 1776.2 He was called Dr. Winslow because of his skill in curing horses and cattle, alhough he reportedly also sometimes tried his had with sick people with good success.5,2 In 1764, and again in 1775, he served as a tithing man for the town.4 In 1767 the town paid Kenelm for one acre of land for the site of a meeting house.2 Dr Winslow charged the town in 1768 for two visits to a Phebe Chick to attend to her illness.2 He was witness for the probated estate of Martha Campbell of Newcastle, Maine in Sept 1776 along with John Ward and John Hussey.6 Similarly, he was a witness for the probated estate of a Prince Barker in Feb 1783 in Newcastle, again with John Ward.6 Kenelm Winslow died on 16 February 1796 at Newcastle, Lincoln, Maine, USA; According to the account of a John Farley inthe book History of Ancient Sheepscot and Newcastle, Dr Winslow was captured by Indians and taken to Louds Island where he was killed, around the year 1753. Of course, this conflicts with other informtion showing a Kenelm Winslow active in town affairs as late as 1783.7,2

     Patience Winslow was born in 1760. She was the daughter of Kenelm Winslow and Ann (?).1 Patience Winslow married David Hodgkins, son of David Hodgkins and Mary Spiller, circa 1779; David is listed as from Ipswich, MA.2 Patience Winslow appeared on the census of 1810 at Nobleboro, Lincoln, Maine; Living in close proximity to Patience are probable sons David, Daniel, and Thomas. Living in her household at this time are three males 16-25, one female under 10, 1 female 10-15 and one female 16-25.3 She appeared on the census of 1820 at Nobleboro, Lincoln, Maine; She is listed as "Widow Hodkins" and living in the vicinity are her sons, Joseph, Thomas, David, and Francis.4 She died in 1837 at Nobleboro, Lincoln, Maine, USA.1
